We offer 3 types of Brown Kraft stocks, all of which are 100% recycled:
- Brown Kraft Natural, the original of our Kraft Collection, offers the most range of thicknesses: 15pt, 18pt, 22pt, 32pt and 45pt. Choose Brown Kraft Natural if you want a brown coloured stock that isn't too light, nor too dark. Throughout the stock are random flecks from the recycled content, giving products an added touch of character. This stock is uncoated, and has a smooth yet slightly textured feel.
- Dark Brown Kraft is the darkest of the Brown Kraft collection and is available in 18pt thickness. It's deep colour andh ligt coloured visible fibers lend a nice vintage sensation to any product, making it the ideal choice for old style prints. Like the rest of our Brown Kraft collection, Dark Brown Kraft is uncoated with an organic feel.
- Light Brown Kraft is the most recent addition to our Brown Kraft collection. Available in 14pt thickness, this stock is uncoated, smooth and feels heavier than an average 14pt stock due to its rigidity. Of the entire Brown Kraft collection, Light Brown Kraft provides the most design flexibility - colours print the most vibrant on this stock and is the best for designs with fine line weights. Our Light Brown Kraft also has very fine but noticeable hairlines in black, blue and red.
What is the finest detail you recommend on Kraft card?
We recommend fine detail to be over 2pt line thickness – of a solid dark colour.

How will color look on the Brown Kraft?
Colors will appear different to when printed on a white paper.
We do not print white ink as part of regular CMYK printing. Elements in your design that are white will be blank (hence show the brown paper). The paper stock will affect the way that colors appear due to the slightly translucent quality of the ink (you will see the brown paper through the ink, especially in lighter shades).
Colors in the orange, yellow, brown spectrum will tend to not be visible as the brown colour of the paper will not contrast enough with the ink. This occurs with light and pastel colors as well.
The values below are just a few sample CMYK combinations that work on Brown Kraft:
- Red (5-15, 90-100, 75-100, 0)
- Orange (0, 50, 100, 0)
- Blue (63-100, 0, 0-12, 0)
- Green (75, 5, 100, 0)
- Rich Black (60, 40, 40, 100)
We do not recommend colors in the following range:
- Yellow (0-20, 0-20, 100, 0-20)
- Light Blue (0-20, 0-10, 0-10, 0-10)
- Light Pink / Red (0-10, 0-20, 0-20, 0-10)
- Grey (0-10, 0-10, 0-10, 0-20)
While white and light ink colors cannot be achieved on Brown Kraft with standard CMYK printing, there are other specialty services that can. This includes screen printing and foil stamping, which you can request through our Print Quote form.
As the Brown Kraft is textured it does not hold fine detail.

How will color look on the Green Kraft?
Colors will appear different on this colored paper compared to when printed on a white paper.
We do not "print" white ink (although we do offer white foiling or screen print at an additional cost). Elements in your design that are white will end up being blank (hence showing the green paper).
The paper stock will also affect the way that colors appear. Colors in the green, yellow, cyan spectrum will tend to not be visible as the green color of the paper will not contrast enough with the ink. This is also the case with light and pastel colors.
As the Green Kraft is textured it does not hold fine detail.
White ink on Brown Kraft
White ink can be applied using screen printing (or sometimes a foiling process) for an additional cost. This service is not included as an option in most of our standard products.
Pricing and ordering is available via a Print Quote.

- Bleed Area
- Trim Area
- Safe Area
Bleed Area refers to images that extend to the very edges of a design. To prevent an unwanted white border from showing at the edge of your design, or for the design to appear slightly off-center, be sure to extend any background colors or design elements all the way to the edge of bleed (.125” past the trim on all four sides).
Trim Area refers to the amount of the image that will appear on your finished product. These areas will also be marked with ‘cut lines’ on your proof and are where we aim to cut your card.
Safety Area in most cases refers to 1/8 of an inch inside of the Trim Area. For thicker papers 20pt and up or wooden papers the Safety Area increases ¼ of an inch inside the Trim Area. we strongly recommend you keep important aspects of your design such as text and logos well inside of the Safety Area, otherwise, they may be cut off.
