Is the Pearl Stock easy to write on?
Yes, the Pearl Stocks are easy to write on with a ballpoint pen or marker.
How water resistant is the Pearl Stock?
As the Pearl Stock is coated it will be slightly water resistant (although not waterproof).
Will the Pearl Stock change the colour of my design at all?
Yes, the colour of your design will be affected by the paper colour. Stronger colours such as Pink will affect print colour more than lighter colours such as Silver and Oyster.
Is the Pearl Stock tough?
The Pearl Stocks do feel slightly more flexible and bendable when compared to the same thickness white stock, even though they are the same thickness.
We also offer an 18PT Pearl Oyster and 32PT Mega Thick Pearl card for extra thickness and strength.
Will the Pearl Stock affect show through solid colour?
Solid colour will hide the Pearl effect of the paper.
Does the Pearl Stock "glitter" come off?
No. The Pearl effect is not a coating – it is part of the paper itself and cannot come off.
Can the Pearl Stock be embossed, foiled or have rounded corners?
The Pearl Stock looks amazing with a blind emboss, it can also be foil stamped or any custom shape. Please request a custom print quote for these services.

Yes, place a custom print quote for these products.
Just remember, if you want to write on the cards (such as thank you cards) – certain writing implements might not be suitable for this card. Please test a sample before ordering.
Printing Photographs on Pearl stock
You can print full bleed on this stock, and some photographic images can look fantastic printed on Pearl. That being said, it depends on the image in question. Some fine or light details may not print as sharp or visible on this stock due to the iridescent quality of the paper. We also don’t recommend printing large areas of solid colours (especially darker shades) as this can mask the glimmer of the paper.
Some photos will be suitable to print on this stock, but you should check our design considerations for Pearl stock to see if the image you are looking to print could have issues on this stock. You can also choose “online PDF proof” for your order to have our Prepress department review your files for any potential issues prior to printing.
Please also keep in mind that some of the richer coloured Pearl stocks (like Gold) will strongly effect the colour of your design when printed over this coloured paper; some lighter coloured photographs may not work well on all the available Pearl paper shades. As a general rule, your design colours should be darker than the colour of the stock you are printing on.
What colour is the Pearl Stock?

- Bleed Area
- Trim Area
- Safe Area
Bleed Area refers to images that extend to the very edges of a design. To prevent an unwanted white border from showing at the edge of your design, or for the design to appear slightly off-center, be sure to extend any background colors or design elements all the way to the edge of bleed (.125” past the trim on all four sides).
Trim Area refers to the amount of the image that will appear on your finished product. These areas will also be marked with ‘cut lines’ on your proof and are where we aim to cut your card.
Safety Area in most cases refers to 1/8 of an inch inside of the Trim Area. For thicker papers 20pt and up or wooden papers the Safety Area increases ¼ of an inch inside the Trim Area. we strongly recommend you keep important aspects of your design such as text and logos well inside of the Safety Area, otherwise, they may be cut off.
