We generally don’t recommend it. Colorplan is designed to showcase the paper’s unique hue, and simpler designs with black or a single ink color really let the stock stand out. While you can print full-color on these colored stocks, the paper color can influence the final appearance of your designs.

Lighter Colorplan stocks are best for strong legibility. Popular choices include Mandarin, Harvest, Factory Yellow, Lavender, Pistachio, Pale Grey or Mist, Candy Pink, Pale Green, Pale Turquoise, Cool Grey, and Stone.

Yes, you can! We offer white ink printing on Colorplan cards. Just make sure to select the “Add White Ink” option when ordering. If you're using Adobe, create a layer named “White” for anything you want printed in white. If you'd prefer us to set it up for you, simply leave a note with your order and we'll handle the rest.

Adding white ink is easy, and you have two simple options.

If you’re using Adobe Illustrator or InDesign, create a separate layer and name it White. Any artwork or text placed on this layer will be printed in white ink on your Colorplan card. This is perfect for logos, type, or small details you want to really stand out against the colored paper.

If you’d rather not set up a white layer, that’s totally fine too. When placing your order, just leave a note telling us which elements you want printed in white ink. Our prepress team will take care of the setup and make sure everything looks right before printing.
