What are the differences between your floor stickers? Which one should I choose?
We offer a diverse range of floor decals that are made for various applications. They're all high quality, waterproof, easily removable, and most importantly, protected with an anti-slip coating which is UL 410 certified, meaning that the level of slip resistance has been fully tested and identified as safe. Below is a brief breakdown of our floor decals:
Super Matte: Ideal for indoor use such as on tile, vinyl, laminate, glass, and walls (can last up to 3 years).
Textured Matte: Just like Super Matte, but has a rough, uneven surface for slightly more grip (can last up to 3 years).
Permanent Matte: Has a stronger adhesive strength than Super Matte; great for indoor and outdoor use (can last up to 3 years).
Carpet Matte: Specifically designed for commercial carpets, but can also be applied on tile, vinyl, laminate, and concrete (can last up to 6 months).
Industrial Textured Grit Outdoor: For temporary applications outdoor on unsealed concrete, unsealed asphalt, and paving bricks (can last up to 3 months). Industrial Textured Grit Outdoor stickers are protected with a special textured matte coating that has been tested for slip resistance and skid resistance per UL 410 and ASTM E303 respectively, which are highly regarded safety requirements by 3M. The coating adds a unique grip texture to the sticker making it considerably stronger and exceptionally safer. Excellent for areas with high foot traffic, and will withstand heavy rain and extreme weather conditions.
Which sticker is suitable for elevator floors?
Due to high foot traffic and constant cleaning of elevator floors, Our Permanent Matte sticker is the best option for this application. For extra protection, we also recommend our Industrial Textured Grit Outdoor sticker.
Do you print full color?
Yes! We can print any images, graphics and even photographs in full color or black ink only. The price is the same for both options.
How do I apply the floor decal?
Best Practices
Safety is our priority. Our floor decals are protected with an anti-slip coating which is UL 410 certified, meaning that the level of slip resistance has been fully tested and identified as safe. The strong adhesive will also prevent your stickers from curling and peeling off any surface. We guarantee that our floors stickers are safe to use on any surface, indoors or outdoors, and are long-lasting.
Keeping the condition of your floor decal is key to ensure your message is highly visible for a long period of time. Ideally, a moderate traffic area is safest for the location of your floor decal. The surface should be level, free from cracks, chips, missing and/or loose tile / grout. Also, make sure the surface is free from silicone as this will prevent the decal from sticking.
Once your floor decal is applied, avoid any contact of solvents and oils. Scuffs and dirt on the decal can be cleaned with soap and water (daily cleaning with mild soap and water is acceptable).
Prep the Floor
It is Important to prep the floor properly to increase the durability of your floor decal. The surface must be clean, smooth and dry.
Clean the floor with a commercial detergent solution (that does not contain enzymes and soaps) and water, ensuring that you extend beyond the location of the decal by 8-10 inches on all edges.
Wipe down with a lint-free paper towel right away and do not leave any residue (the cleaning solution should not air dry).
*TIP: If any grease or oil remains, saturate a lint-free paper towel with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and follow with a dry paper towel to wipe the IPA.
Application
Locate the exact floor decal location and ensure that the edges of the decal are not along a tile edge, grout or floor joint.
Place the decal upside down on a flat surface and peel back 2-3 cm of the liner. Fold the liner back to expose 2-3 cm of the adhesive.
Return to the floor and use the lined part of the decal to place it on the designated area (right side up). Once in the right location, press the exposed edge of the decal to the floor starting from the middle. Continue pressing to the outer edges and ensure that no bubbles form.
Finish the application of the rest of the decal by removing 15-20 cm of the liner each time. Make sure to keep the decal close to the floor and use the provided squeegee to scrape back and forth. Like the previous step, make sure to start from the center of the already applied edge and move towards the outer edges.
Finally, check that the entire decal has been applied properly and squeegee over the entire surface one last time.
*TIP: We recommend doing the application after business hours as the decal needs to sit for at least 8 hours to reinforce the adhesion to the floor and to minimize any lifting of the edges.
Removal
The removal of your floor decal should be done with the same attention and care as the application process. If you forcefully and quickly pull off the floor decal, you may also tear off the treatment (if any) that is on the application surface. For helpful tips and best results, follow our recommended removal method below.
- Apply heat
Start with the use of heat as this will help release the adhesive from the decal. Heat one edge of the decal for about 30-60 seconds using a heat gun, propane torch, weed burner or other source of concentrated heat, and place it approximately 6-12" away from the decal. - Gently lift the heated edge
Gently lift the heated edge using a putty knife and slowly pull toward you at a 45° angle or less. - Alternate applying heat and pulling
Work your way slowly through the decal. Alternate applying heat (30-60 seconds each time) and pulling slowly at less than 45° angle. - Clean any remaining residue with soap and water
If any adhesive residue is present after the decal has been removed, wash the application surface with soap and water.
