How are the T-shirt printed? Our T-shirts are screen-printed on the highest-quality American Apparel T-Shirts. We use the best quality fine screens for sharp output.

How do I setup my artwork/design for T-shirts? Please download our T-Shirt-Template. Designs are screen printed onto T-shirts in 13” x 18” rectangle print areas. Vector format graphics and illustrations are recommended for the best outcome. For raster (or pixel-based) designs, the resolution must be 300PPI (pixels per inch) or higher. The finest detail we recommend is a 2pt thickness.
The colours will need to specified using Spot-CMYK colours (1 spot colour for a 1-colour order; 2 spot colours for a 2-colour order etc.). Please supply a press PDF file (bleed and crop marks are not required).

There are some limitations to designing for screen printing. Two print areas cannot be registered together. Registration is within 4pt (0.05 inches) - slight shifting can occur.

What is the finest detail you can output? The finest detail we recommend is 2pt. For metallic and other specialty inks, the finest details recommended is 4pt.

What is one-colour printing? One-colour means one ink. The ink can be the colour of your choice. Your design will need to be in one colour only. You can then choose which colour ink you would like the ink to be. Standard ink colours are included in the price of your shirts.
Fluorescent, black-light ink, gradient blend, metallic ink and other specialty inks are available at an additional cost.

What specialty inks do you offer? We can fulfill almost any request for a specialty ink – from fluorescent and metallic inks to black-light inks and more. These specialty inks may have an additional cost.

How do I specify the colour/s I want to use? Please provide the CMYK breakdown for the colour you would like to use. Please keep in mind that there can still be a slight difference due to the hue colour of the shirt compared with paper. We can also match a colour sample you provide (such as your Business Cards). Ensure there is at least a 1” x 1” area of solid colour. Minor colour shifting can occur.

Where can I place the design on my T-shirt? You can place your design anywhere on the T-shirt. We have a 13” x 18” print area which can be placed anywhere on the shirt. Two 13” x 18” print areas can be placed on one shirt (such as sleeve and chest) – however there will be an additional cost. We can print on any areas of the shirt:

• Chest and front
• Back
• Sleeve/s

Each of these areas will require another 13” x 18” print area (or “pass”). One print area is included with each order – additional areas can be added to your orderat an additional cost.
We recommend keeping your print area at least 0.5 inches away from seams, the neck line – these areas can be printed, however you must accept the risk of an inconsistent outcome.

What is a standard ink colour? A standard ink colour is any colour within the CMYK spectrum.

Are shirts included in the price? Yes, all our prices include shirts and printing.

Can I mix shirt colours and sizes? The minimum order for each shirt size is a quantity of 10. Size, design and ink-colour cannot be varied for this pricing; however the T-shirt colour itself can be varied within the set. Please remember – a light coloured shirt with light ink (or a dark coloured shirt with dark ink) might not contrast enough for the design to be visible.

How do I order different size shirts? The minimum quantity order for any size and colour is 10. To order different sizes, you will need to add each set to your cart before you checkout.

Can I provide my own shirts for printing? At this stage we only offer printing on American Apparel shirts – you cannot supply your own shirts. If you are interested in this printing on your own material, please submit an inquiry via the Contact Us page.

What style are the T-shirts? Crew-neck short-sleeve American Apparel T-Shirts.

What brand T-shirts do you use? American Apparel Fine Jersey cotton. Made of 100% fine ring-spun combed cotton, this lightweight fine jersey is exceptionally smooth and tight-knit, making it a perfect surface for screen printing.

Do you offer Men's, Women's and Kids sizes? We currently offer American Apparel adult unisex size shirts. Durable rib neckband. For other sizes and options, please inquire via a Custom Print Quote.
NB. American Apparel “Unisex” products are sized for men; women may prefer to order one size smaller.

Can I see a sample of the T-shirts? Limited samples are available for viewing at all of our locations. To view a sample you can also order a generic printed Jukeboxprint.com T-shirt for a cost of $35 (including shipping within Canada and USA). Please contact our Customer Service line to arrange this.

What is the turnaround time for T-shirt orders? Shirts have an estimated 6-8 full business day turnaround. We can offer a rush service of 4-5 business days (for approximately $100 additional for a 50 quantity order). Please contact our Customer Service Line to place a rush order.

If I am ordering a two-colour job – can I mix the colours to make a third colour? Colours can be combined, but they will be combined using a colour half-tone.

Can T-shirts be Dynamic Printed? No. The minimum quantity for orders is 10 shirts. Each of the shirts in the set will have the same artwork, in the same colour.

Can I try on a T-shirt? We do not have facilities for this – however you can view sizes at your local American Apparel retailer. Please keep in mind as the shirts are 100% cotton, they will shrink slightly when washed.

Are the shirts pre-shrunk? We only use new American Apparel shirts – they are not pre-shrunk, so please keep in mind as they are cotton they will shrink slightly when washed.

How long will the print last? Will it fade or shrink? We use the highest quality screen-printing inks. The print will likely outlast the life of the shirt itself.
The print will shrink and stretch with the shirt. Minimal shrinkage will occur when first washed – as with any new cotton shirt.

Is the print washable and ironable? Yes. The print is fully washable and ironable – we recommend only ironing on a low-heat setting on the back side of the print to extend the lifetime of your shirt.

What are the care instructions for the T-Shirts?

• Cold machine wash
• Low speed machine dry
• Dry on low/delicate setting
• Low-heat iron

What are the environmental credentials of the T-Shirts? The inks used are water based and are free of PVCs and pthalates. We are proud to only offer American Apparel Shirts that are made in a sweatshop-free environment.

Can I print a photo? Printing a photo is possible – but is not recommended. T-Shirts are printed using a different method to printing on paper and card – although it is possible, the printing method and detail are not suited to photographs. The most suitable graphics for T-Shirts are company logos and vector-based illustrations.

To print a "full-colour" photo; you will need to place your order for 4 ink colour printing (cyan, magenta, yellow and black). You could also convert an image to greyscale (for 1 ink printing) or duo tone (for 2+ ink printing).
